Google Classroom FAQ

In order to help with distance learning initiatives at Southwest Leadership Academy Charter School, we are asking parents and students to become familiar with Google classroom.

What is Google Classroom?

Google Classroom is a free web service, developed by Google for schools, that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students

What is necessary to run Google Classroom?

Google Classroom can be run from any device that is connected to the internet either from the app or from a web browser.

How do I join the classroom for My student

Sign in to your student email account ⇒ click on Google Classroom ⇒ join using classroom code.

Can Parents Have access to Google Classroom?

Parents can have access through their child’s account. The teacher needs to send you an invite to have access. Please contact your teacher and provide your email.

Who can join the Google Classroom?

Only students with a SLACS email can join a Google classroom.

How does Google classroom work?

Once you are connected to the classroom teacher will assign assignments, you’ll have a few days and you can collaborate with your teacher via email in the classroom.

How do I complete an assignment in google classroom?

Is there a Classroom app for my phone or tablet?

Yes. The Classroom app is available for Apple® iOS®, Android, and Chrome devices. For more information, see Get the Classroom app.

What does Classroom cost? 

Classroom is free for all users.
