The goal for our students is to become mathematical thinkers that are able to communicate their mathematical thoughts and have a deep understanding of mathematics in order to master higher level complexities.

SLACS uses the Eureka Math curriculum that engages and provides our students with high-quality mathematics through the following process:

• Learn standards based mathematics

• Practice skills continually and effectively

• Succeed on varied assessments.

This curriculum is designed to activate our students’ procedural skills and mathematical fluencies at each grade level through a whole and small group mathematics, centres, independent practice, collaborative group work, manipulatives, and differentiated instruction. We believe our students will use precision, conceptual reasoning, mathematical models and tools, and abstract thinking to become life-long mathematical thinkers.
